“Every morning in Africa, a Gazelle wakes up. It knows it must run faster than the fastest lion or it will be killed.

Every morning a Lion wakes up. It knows it must outrun the slowest Gazelle or it will starve to death. It doesn't matter whether you are a Lion or a Gazelle... when the sun comes up, you'd better be running.” ~ Unknown

Lisa Jones, Growing up in West Philadelphia, no one could have known the secrets I carried as a child. My mother was a hardworking woman who volunteered collecting tuition and worked a forty-hour job every week to pay for my brother and me to attend Catholic school. My father was the neighborhood repair person who volunteered to cook fish and chicken dinners, and dress up as Santa at the church. My brother was a gifted vocalist with a God-given call to ministry. I was the straight A student who received First Honors every year, and was blessed with a full academic scholarship to a private Catholic all girl academy. My brother and I were active in the church, altar serving, and singing on choirs, ushering, greeting, and doing whatever was asked of us. There were no signs of distress or lack; to everyone we were an amazing family.
